The Royal Canadian Legion is Canada’s largest Veteran’s organization with 500,000 members.

Over 6,300 Canadians are employed by the Legion at 1,600 Branches nationwide.

Over 2.3 million volunteer hours were donated by Legion members for youth, seniors and veterans programs last year.

The Legion has sponsored the construction of 9,300 seniors and veterans housing units.

Over 2,790 Cadet, Scout, Girl Guide, Cub and Brownie groups are sponsored or supported by Legion Branches.

The Legion collected $8 million in its Poppy campaign in 1998. The Poppy Fund is separate from Legion finances and is used solely for charitable purposes.

The Legion paid over $7 million in property taxes in 1999.
