PHASE-LOCKED LOOP TUTORIAL (Apple & IBM) CAT.# 162-D01-36
Here is number eight in our electrical engineering tutorial series. The
theory part of the package includes discussion of synchronized
multivibrators, VCO's the NE555, MC1648, phase detectors, AFC, hold-in range,
etc. The program part allows you to experiment with building a phase-locked
loop from phase-detector, low-pass filter, and VCO blocks. You may simulate
TV synchronization (a picture of Kirchoff may be "played with") and examine
hold-in and lock-in both visually and analytically. Of particular interest
are the effects caused by the use of various filters and filter functions.
PHASE-LOCKED LOOP TUTORIAL may be used in a college-level electrical
engineering course as a teaching aide, or as a refresher.
NOTE: The IBM version requires 256K and a CGA card (or equivalent).
