  FLIGHT PLAN is an inexpensive general-aviation package which provides
  pilots, instructors, and fixed-base operation with:
  * Flight-planning checklist for recording airport, communications,
    weather, and special-use airspace data and Notices to Airmen.
  * Weight-and-balance computations for specific 2- and 4-place aircraft and
    typical rental aircraft
  * Navigation computations: magnetic course, magnetic heading, ground speed,
    leg time, and total distance and time for up to nine legs (unlike some
    programs, FLIGHT PLAN allows direct routing and does not depend on specific
    navigational facilities and their operational status).
  * Kneeboard-size Flight Log showing checkpoint, distance, true air speed,
    altitude, magnetic course, magnetic heading, ground speed, leg time, and
    total distance and time, with space for noting compass error actual
    time, navigational aids, and preflight and inflight recalculations.
  * Fuel requirement and reserve computations, with provision for ground
    time and for diversion to an alternate destination.
  * Reminders of loading and VFR and IFR altitude and fuel requirements.
  * Flight-cost estimates.
  * A plain-language guide to FLIGHT PLAN's proper use, with safety
    conditions paramount.

  FLIGHT PLAN's author is one of the Federal Aviation Administration's
  appointed volunteer accident-prevention counsellors, and the program and
  guide were written to facilitate compliance with Federal Aviation
  Regulations for flight planning.
