ENGINEERING SKETCHPAD (IBM & compatibles) CAT.# 161-D01-38
ENGINEERING SKETCHPAD is a simple graphics program for engineers,
technicians, architects, interior designers, or anyone who frequently uses a
straight-edge, compass, and templates to make drawings for documentation and
explanation. ESP-generated drawings are quickly and easily prepared,
printed, and modified. ESP is not a "paintbrush" program for general art.
These are usually poorly suited to engineering drawings. Instead, it draws on
a 5,000-point Cartesian coordinate system to allow the preparation of
easily-read drawings (transistors, resistors, desks, etc.). These stored
drawings can be rotated, mirrored, inverted, expanded, or contracted before
being included in a new drawing. In addition, structures may be "dragged
about" to simplify positioning them.
ESP is menu-driven to make it easily learned and retained. It comes with a
concise instruction manual that also serves as a training guide with examples
to help you quickly master drawing techniques. This package was written by a
working engineer to make his own job easier, and is published in the belief
that useful, convenient software need not be expensive. The package includes
documentation and a disk containing the compiled program, the PASCAL source
code, and many electrical-engineering template drawings.
ESP requires 128K of RAM, the IBM graphics board, two disk drives, a printer,
and a graphics screen dump program to prepare hard copy of the drawings.
ESP has the option (included) of using the 8087 math co-processor for
increased speed.
